If you've got any photographs that would benefit from some tlc, then I'm sure I can help. Choose from Basic restoration, Enhanced restoration, or Complex restoration, if you're not sure which one you need, then email me, and I'll provide a quote. It's not just old photographs that can benefit from this service, digital photographs can too ! You may have an object in your photographs that's spoiling it or distracting from the main image. I can remove items like that, depending on where they appear in the photograph. Basic Restoration This is usually where the photograph is maybe slightly faded, has a few small scratches and marks that need fixed, cropping changes, colour balance, sharpening and/or removal of a small unwanted object that's not near a lot of detail. Put your mouse over the image above, and it will changed to the cleaned image. This image has been cropped which makes the image more balanced, with the people more central, some minor marks removed, colour balanced to remove the faded appearance and finally sharpened. Enhanced Restoration As above, but with more complex fixes required. These may include larger scratches or creases or blemishes that need to be removed, or a larger object needing to be removed. Put your mouse over the image above, and it will changed to the cleaned image. This image, had 2 main creases spoiling the photograph. The image was cropped, which removed some of the damage, the remaining creases were carefully removed, along with other spots and marks on the photograph (white mark near the back of the neck, and another white mark on the right wrist, plus other small blemishes). The rough bottom edge of the photograph was cropped out, if that had to be rebuilt, then it would have been a complex restoration. Complex Restoration As above, but with more complicated damage. Large scratches, creases or tears, affecting some detailed areas of the photograph. Put your mouse over the image above, and it will changed to the cleaned image. This image, has many creases, a couple of which go across the people in the photograph. This damage has been carefully removed, the image sharpened, increased the contrast, and toned to black and white, removing the sepia toning (you could keep that if preferred). Although not shown here, I'd crop part of the sky from this picture, to arrive at a standard 6x4 or 7x5 image that can be printed and framed. Old photographs tend to come in sizes that are not easy to print, so, for every image, where possible, I'd crop it to get a standard print size, meaning that the customer can order prints anywhere. Prices
To return your original image if posted to me, post and packaging would be applicable. Prices above, state "from", I will endeavour to keep prices near the start of the range for any quote, the cost quoted depends on the amount of work involved in the restoration. Unlike many restorers, I do not offer prints (I can do on request), and instead turn over the restored image to yourself, for you to print using whatever service you prefer. This makes it a very cost effective offering, as you can get as many copies as you like from the restored print without any photographer mark-up to pay. Care of your photograph If you have posted a picture to me for restoration, every care will be taken with the photograph, but I cannot be held responsible for problems that occur during posting or any accidental damage that occurs. When received, I scan your photograph (or take a picture of it), and all restoration work will take place on the digital copy of your photograph. Your original photograph will be returned to you at the end of the restoration process. Payment Payment via PayPal is preferred, and you will be invoiced via PayPal, payment by cheque can be accepted, although the process will be somewhat delayed by the extra time taken for the cheque to clear (and the limited number of days our local bank is open !) |
